2023 SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM
It's not a camp!

It's a MULTIMEDIA STUDIO where kids 8-14 can begin their journey to becoming
GAME DESIGNERS
CONTENT CREATORS
ANIMATORS
FILMMAKERS
July 3 through September 1 at the RA Centre, 2451 Riverside Dr., Ottawa
An innovative summer experience where kids choose their own learning adventure
Your child’s imagination is the only limit in this full-day technology camp for kids 8-14 yrs old. Our program boasts a cutting-edge 21st Century learning model where small teams or individuals are given all the tools they need, and are set loose in our multimedia studio to work on their own creative projects in a supportive environment. Your child can choose to design and code their own video games, create a Lego stop-motion masterpiece, or film an epic space voyage in our green screen studio!
Kids in need of skills or inspiration will be able join in on mini-lessons that build practical skills in coding and digital media creation, and self-starters will be encouraged to jump right in and use our studio’s resources to start bringing their ideas to life.
Atomec Studios is excited to be joined this summer by Mr. T’s wife, award-winning local artist and illustrator Lynne Anderson, who has recently jumped into the children’s education world with both feet, creating amazing illustrations and animations for Atomec Studios’ broadcasts. Lynne is helping our team put the ‘A’ into STEAM by spearheading a newly expanded digital art and animation program that will teach kids how to create their own digital characters, animate them and incorporate them into amazing creative projects.
Our zany new video tutorial series, Scratch Hacks, will form the bedrock of this summer’s learning experience, by introducing kids to the amazing tools embedded in MIT’s Scratch, the world’s most popular technology tool for kids. These fun and engaging tutorials, built around Mr. T’s own classroom experiences, act as a starting point for insanely fun and projects in coding, game design, music, digital art, animation and more that will ignite your child’s creative passion.
